PetalFlow is about the rotational golden ratio flow which places petals in an universal sequence that is in correlation with every living organism in the cosmos.

Although it looks chaotic, there is a mathematical relationship created algorythmically.

Fluidly weaving through a transdisciplinary vernacular, the artist’s new work presents an alternate perspective on perception through music, graphic murals, photographic imagery and interactive digital installation.
With undulating, organic lines and supple spatial contours, the work fluently traverses between the delineations of digital graphic design, free style illustration and raw street art.

Dexterous transition and individual adaptation have played influential roles in both the artist’s life and work. Born in France and raised between Los Angeles, NYC and Paris, where he currently works, Ismael claims no cultural association with either country, but rather sees himself as an autonomous itinerate of his own creation.

Creeping up the two-story wall of the exhibition space, the rich graphic mural, “LA” evokes a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles reimagined as a floral phantasmagoria of indigenous flora. Freeway systems and strip malls have been replaced with mutant sized birds of paradise and bougainvillea that traverse the pictorial plane leaving behind a complex grid of overlapping stems and vines.

Though, to be clear, Ismael’s work neither critiques, comments, indemnifies, nor blames. And though it participates in the larger discourse of contemporary culture, it is refreshingly absent of irony and pre-meditative narrative, presenting in their places the bold modus of inherent passion.

Projected on to the back wall of the exhibition space is an interactive digital experience that transforms the appearance and movement of the viewer. Visual data is taken in through a camera and then reconjured through a software program designed by the artist.

It is then projected on to the wall in a multicolored mosaic, creating a dynamic composition of morphing patterns and shapes that dissolve and reform in sync with the viewer’s movement.

Serving as a visual analogy, the work captures the artist’s facility for aesthetic transformation on a transdisciplinary level. And though the works’ surface exteriors are purposely modified, the mosaiced self-portraits and fantastical mural graphics reveal more of the artist’s true identity than any straight photography.

According to art theorist Nicolas Bourriaud, the decline of Postmodernism is due in part, to its failure to grasp the evolution of the new global identity. That is to say, the question of who are you? is no longer determined by where are you from?, but rather, where are you going?
In “I Live My Vision”, we see a portrait of the artist by way of the direction of his destination.

This album is very special to me.
I did all the production / beats, wrote all the lyrics, and recorded myself.
I created the Album Cover Art.
No features.

I played all the drums, bass, guitar, and other sounds on my MacBook Pro’s keyboard.
I imagined an entire band playing the songs, and this is what inspired me to play the drums the way I did.
I imagined a drummer in my head, and I wanted that drummer to have fun while playing my song on stage.
Same for the guitar and other instruments.

I made the first 3 tracks in 2010.
I made the other 8 in January and February 2011.
I recorded the album in 1 week during March before having anything written down prior.
I freestyle / improvise a large part of the album in 1 take.

11/11/11 is a special day on the western calendar.
Nothing but 1′s.
I was always fascinated by the graphic quality of all these bars next to one another ever since I was a child looking at my casio watch at 11:11:11 on a 11/11.

With my album named 11/11/11, the context of when it was released stays alive with it.
All people will have to do in 100 years is research what was happening at that time in order to understand it from a multitude of perspectives.

COME BACK SPARKIN is the title of my song and music video.

SPARKIN should be spelled SPARKING, but I chose to spell it the way I pronounce it.
This is how I create language.
I grew up in urban environments and slang talk (ebonix) has always been my preferred way of expressing myself.
It is the language of my people and culture.
It’s a form of dialect. Countries have a main language, and many different dialects.
I always loved the level of creativity that could be applied to a language, and the power slang has in societies.

To COME BACK SPARKIN is to come back from a difficult situation while creating something absolutely beautiful out of it.
It is the act of overcoming an obstacle or obstacles no matter the level of difficulty.
We have the power as SuperHumans to take advantage of every situation.
In this song, I first remind myself, that I am the one who chooses to feel down or up, no one else:
No matter what i go through, it can’t get me down

Go ahead, take a shot at me. All you are going to do is fuel the beast.
In other words, help me excel to the next level:
I’m a Warrior at heart, kick me down !

Some individuals do a whole lot of talking, but their actions do not match their blah blah blah.
Or they spend most of their time talking, while never truly accomplishing and doing something about what they are talking about:
While you’re barkin, I move in action !

Realising that I have no one to talk to and spending my time by myself because no one around me is real enough, or I do not relate to them:
Very lonely, no one to talk to

I gain consciousness of my HumanPower , and I choose to Keep My Head Up as Tupac told us.

Dark tunnels, with no light dude

I then realize who I am:
Actually, I’m the Light Myself.

When I say enemy some may think that I am talking about a person outside of themselves, but I am not:

I am not one of those people who thinks money is evil and who does not want money.
I’m a physical being with 5 physical senses, so I enjoy things money allows me to do.
I want to be clear that this is not an anti-money campaign, it is about understanding its role and purpose in our lives.
I do not claim to have the answers, what I do is invite others to my journey.

The Art Direction of this music video is a continuation of my project THE REBIRTH in which I created an imaginary world where the unreal becomes real.
The quality of this Music Video is very poor, the camera was old and busted, so this is what it is.
I think it’s cool to have the quality this fucked up because it’s such a huge contrast to crisp HD imagery.

This is my Exhibition ‘EAT ON IT’ !!!!!!

I am William Ismael (aka Willpower), the Creator of everything you experience here.
Welcome to the Wonderful World of Willpower !
Here is some information about this Exhibition:

Exhibition based on 3 works:
- Year Zero
- Deprogram
- Beautiful Fight

Those works were then re-created in plates.
Hence the title “Eat On It”.

The reminder of the plates is to eat food that has never gone through a factory, and that comes straight from the earth in order to be healthy and in tuned with mother nature.

A Video Projection of my Motion work was also part of the Exhibition.
Small prints were tiled on a wall, and the windows of the space were decorated by long prints.

Oh yeah, I also hand drew on the table with a marker !
The table was then varnished.

Doing headstand at Bois de Boulogne on the westside of Paris, France.
The Headstand makes the blood flow to the brain, which is a magical position…
also referred to as the King of Yoga positions.

The title Crack The Heavens was inspired by Prodigy of Mobb Deep’s verse in this song below:

I grew up on Gang Starr.
It is one of my favorite groups of all time.
I had the chance to hang out with Guru in both Paris and Los Angeles.

He is a huge inspiration, and one of Hip Hop’s Gods: the God Universal
